UDISE Plus School Login (UDISE+) Educational Management @udiseplus.gov.in

For every student, Quality Education is a right with no discrimination. Private schools provide competition at their own level. It is noteworthy that the Government of India (GoI) has put in elaborate efforts towards providing enhanced infrastructure and facilities within schools.

India’s school education system is among the largest in the world. In India, there are over 265 million school students, over 9.5 million teachers, and over 1.49 million schools. These students come from segregated socio-economical backgrounds and different geographical areas – spread across 8 Union territories and 28 States.

To effectively and efficiently manage this information, it becomes a must to have a credible and robust information collection mechanism that delivers results in real time. This makes it possible to objectively evaluate the system. With this data at hand, specific interventions towards improvisation can be made. Timely access to accurate data forms the basis for effective decision-making, planning, and implementation.

To fulfill the requirements mentioned above, GoI has come up with an application called “Unified District Information System For Education Plus” (UDISE+). This will be under the Ministry of Education and will collect school details concerning the different factors associated with schools and their resources. The mandate of UDISE+ is to collect information from all schools unrecognized or recognized, which impart formal education at all levels, from pre-primary to XII.

So, sdms udise plus gov in is a digital platform that is used to collect information. This information is used in several key ways, such as planning, optimizing resource allocation, implementing different programs related to education, and assessing the progress made.

How does UDISE+ collect this information?

UDISE Plus 2024 uses a Data Collection Form (DCF) which is easily available on their website for collecting this information. The information can be segregated under different parameters such as examination results, enrolments, teachers, infrastructure, and school.

Upon successful onboarding, the concerned schools are given a UDISE Code which will be a unique identifier at the national level for the school. In udise plus gov in 2023 24 sdms, the district is the unit of data distribution while the school is the unit of data collection.

Following its introduction, UDISE+ is now operational across all of India’s districts. It has also been granted the status of the Ministry of Education’s official statistics system.

Expected Outcomes and Benefits of UDISE+

  • Facilitates information exchange in real-time by providing a platform where details associated with a school can be uploaded.
  • UDISE+ is a platform that simplifies the organization and classification of all data from different schools across India. A credible database of school data is hence created.
  • With the unique UDISE codes that are given to schools, identifying them is simplified.
  • Ease is delivered to monitor, measure, and track the vital KPIs associated with school performance.
  • UDISE+ facilitates the use of analytics such that the different factors that influence the schools’ performance can be identified.
  • Trends become easier to study via the means of time series data. Improvement or growth can be monitored and changes can be accordingly introduced.
  • Capturing school data becomes easier with UDISE+. The data keeps consistent and the odds of human error are mitigated.

  • By using the UDISE+ platform, insights can be derived on the status of school education in states or union territories. This includes areas of improvement and key performance indicators.

UDISE plus student module

Officials from different schools responsibly feed the school data in the UDISE plus student module. This makes it easier to comprehend the data at the national level by using graphical representations.

At the UDISE+ website, we can go through the different stats associated with the students from nearly all schools in India using simple graphical charts.

As per the Student Dashboard in UDISE+ reports, the total number of students enrolled in the concerned schools is 26.52 crores. 2.85 crores among them are higher secondary students. Similarly, secondary students and elementary students are 3.85 crores and 19.81 crores in number.

Management-wise segregation of students is also demonstrated here using a pie chart. 54% of students are enrolled in government schools while 33.3% of students are enrolled in private schools. Similarly, 10.2% of students get their education in aided arrangements and 2.5% of students get their education in other arrangements.

A pie chart determining the number of students at each level is also shown. This makes it easier to interpret the number of students at each level, shared earlier. 74.7% of all students study at the elementary level while 14.5% of students study at the secondary level and 10.8% at the higher secondary level.

Stats for gross enrollment ratio and net enrollment ratio for the boys and girls studying at each level are also shared using color-coded bar graphs.

UDISE plus teacher module

Just as in the case of students, stats for teachers are also shared on the UDISE+ website. They can be seen by visiting the teacher dashboard in UDISE+ reports.

As per the Teacher Dashboard in UDISE+ reports, the total number of teachers enrolled in the concerned schools is 95.07 lakhs. 27.01 lakhs among them are higher secondary teachers. Similarly, secondary teachers and elementary teachers are 61.20 lakhs and 51.85 lakhs in number.

Management-wise segregation of teachers is also demonstrated here by the means of a pie chart. 51.4% of teachers are enrolled in government schools while 37.2% of teachers are enrolled in private schools. Similarly, 8.4% of teachers work in aided arrangements and 3% of teachers work in other arrangements.

A pie chart determining the number of teachers at each level is also shown. This makes it easier to interpret the number of teachers at each level, shared earlier. 54.5% of all teachers teach at the elementary level while 17% of teachers teach at the secondary level and 28.4% at the higher secondary level.

The male-to-female-teacher ratio has been shared for schools segregated by management type. The pupil-teacher ratio has also been shared for each level using color-coded bar graphs.

UDISE data entry

UDISE+ is all about sharing school information and details. People authorized for purpose do it.

UDISE+ website makes it easier for the concerned personnel to manually feed this information via its robust features for data entry. UDISE plus data entry module is provided for the purpose. On the home page itself, one easily finds the link to materialize the data entry requirements. The link is associated with a block that says UDISE+ school data capture.

Upon clicking on this block, the user is redirected to a page where he can fill in the details concerning his school. For the same, authorization is called for.

So, before a user can enter the details for his concerned school, he has to register for the platform. A registered user, upon visiting the data entry section gets a form to fill out. He can share the details for the concerned school there.

For all states except Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Kerala, one can make the entries from this page. A link, right below the main one will let you enter if your school is in any of the other states.

Administration Related Issues

What is a UDISE code?

As an 11-digit code, the UDISE code acts as a unique identification number that is defined by the school’s geographical location.

General

What is habitation?

In rural areas, the lowest geographical location is known as habitation. Typically, this comprises a few contiguous households from any village. A single village may have multiple habitations.

As in the case of DCF, which is Data Capture Formats, when defining rural areas; one needs to enter the name of the habitation. If a village has no habitation, the name of the village is entered as a habitation.

But, when it is an urban area for which the school details are being entered, one enters the locality or mohalla’s name.

Infrastructure/Facilities Related Issues

Suppose that a single school building is used by two schools. They operate in separate shifts. If, there are 12 classrooms in the school, then, which school has to provide the information on classrooms?

If two schools using the same building in two shifts fill two different DCFs, both have to share information about the classrooms that they use, even if they are shared. Here, UDISE+ is trying to find out about the classroom-pupil ratio, and not about the number of classrooms in any school building.

Teachers Related Issues

If a teacher is transferred, can the teacher’s data be moved from one school to the other?

No, the provision for the same does not exist in the UDISE+ software. If there are any changes in teacher information, such as a teacher’s transfer or retirement, the changes need to be made in DCF in the subsequent year such that the information can be revised.
