Assam Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme Overview
The Health Minister of Assam State, Mr. Himanta Biswa Sarma officially launched the Assam Orunodoi Scheme in August 2020. Assam State set aside ₹ 2800 crores to kick-start the program in 2020 which focuses on helping 17,00,000 families across the region. The program aims to provide financial aid every month to families living below the poverty line.
Implementation and selection of beneficiaries began shortly after the program’s launch.

Assam Orunodoi District Wise List
The Orunodoi beneficiary list by district is released by Assam State government. Applicants selected to benefit from the Orunodoi Scheme will receive palliative funding through direct benefit transfers. Assam Orunodoi Scheme Subsidies
Beneficiaries of the Assam Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme have direct access to four (4) essential subsidies. These subsidies aim to provide much-needed assistance to families in need of such intervention. See the list of items and subsidies available to beneficiaries through this scheme

The Assam State Government provides these subsidies to deserving beneficiaries to provide essential support. These support subsidies help beneficiaries access health products (medicines) and other essential items like vegetables, sugar, and pulses.
Other subsidies available through this scheme aim to provide cooking gas and other essential goods to beneficiaries. ₹ 170 is set aside for essential goods per beneficiary along with a ₹ 200 subsidy for LPG cooking gas.
How to Apply for Orunodoi Scheme 2.0?
The Assam Orunodoi Scheme 2.0 is entirely offline. All beneficiaries of this program must send their applications offline through the nearest Gaon Panchayat office. The following steps are necessary to enter the Orunodoi 2.0 checklist:
- Collect application form at the Gaon Panchayat office nearest to your residence,
- Orunodoi Sahayaks will be responsible to fill Detailed Application Forms (DAFs) for interested applicants,
- Applicants will provide required information to Sahayaks include their bank account details and other data,
- DAFs filled on behalf of potential Orunodoi beneficiaries should also contain an affidavit signed by beneficiaries detailing their eligibility conditions
The Assam Orunodoi Scheme 2024 will release its district-wise list of beneficiaries after verification processes.
Eligibility Criteria for Orunodoi Assam Gov In Scheme
Intending beneficiaries should confirm their eligibility before attempting the Orunodoi Assam apply process. The Orunodoi Assam government initiative requires intending beneficiaries to meet certain eligibility criteria. People who plan to benefit from the scheme must provide accurate information about their eligibility on the filled DAF upon application:
- Beneficiary must be a permanent resident of Assam State,
- Applicant should be currently residing in Assam State,
- Intending beneficiary should be either of:
- a member of a household with an aggregate income lower than ₹ 2 lakh per month, or
- eligible through consideration where there are fewer applicants required in the beneficiary list
- divorced female / widow / unmarried female / separated female older than 45 years of age,
- destitute / Special needs household member / living on alms,
- household without an adult male within the ages of 16 and 59 years old,
- member of a household without appropriate shelter or a befitting pucca,
- household headed by a female with no adult male within the ages of 16 and 59 years old,
- deserted female living in an age old home or other institution funded by the government,
- victims of rape / human trafficking at any age with records in a government database
The scheme aims to promote better living standards for people within these categories. Applicants do not need to meet all eligibility criteria to become beneficiaries of the program. However, intending beneficiaries must be permanent residents and currently reside in Assam state with one other requirement.

Exclusion Criteria of Orunodoi Scheme
Some applications for the Assam State program usually get rejected after verification. Many of these failed applications are because applicants meet the exclusion criteria of this scheme. Common terms in the Orunodoi Scheme exclusion criteria include:
- application from a household with a doctor, lawyer, engineer, or chartered accountant,
- applications from households with an architect or registered government contractor,
- an application from households with any active income tax payer,
- applications from households with ownership rights to either:
- more than 15 bigha of arable land, or,
- at least 1 bigha of residential land in a rural environment
- applicants from a household with ownership rights to at least:
- 1.5 kathas or more land in a metropolis, or
- 3 kathas in any area (commercial or industrial environment)
- applicants from a household with an air-conditioner unit,
- an application which owns a motorized four-wheel vehicle (tractor included)
Applicants who do not meet the exclusion criteria and satisfy requirements for eligibility to the scheme can benefit.
